Summary/Objective
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Architect contractor will serve as a technical architect, administrator, and developer for the university’s SFMC technology platform. This role will be responsible for designing, architecting, and creating the SFMC infrastructure and integrations with third-party applications. The individual will use their knowledge of SFMC’s capabilities and functionalities to collaborate with university stakeholders in creating new marketing cloud campaigns and projects. Additionally, this person will be responsible for monitoring performance, delivering analytics and usage reports, and providing operational and production support for the platform. This role can be contract to hire or direct hire, depending on your preferences!
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Read Before Applying
• Certifications for Marketing cloud Admin, Marketing cloud Email specialist and/or Salesforce Admin.
• At least 3 years progressively relevant experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Journey Builder.
• In depth knowledge in Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities and constraints.
SFMC Platform Architecture
• Design and plan application architecture to ensure the SFMC platform works seamlessly with other app (software) products and extensions.
• Lead the establishment of standards/processes designed to promote availability, performance, agility, data protection, and cost control for SFMC platform.
• Viewed as principal technical resource for SFMC implementations, and future expansion of the use of SFMC.
• Perform advanced, SFMC configurations and integrations following best practices.
• Design, analyze, and coordinate the monitoring of system performance and maximize key system attributes including security, usability, and availability.
Design, Development, and Integration of SFMC Platform Architecture
• Architect all integration projects involving SFMC, using best practices for each unique business need.
• Administer all aspects of users’ security profiles, roles and permissions, and associated automations.
• Identify and deliver practices to maintain data integrity and data cleanup.
• Identify and deliver best practices in security and process improvements across multiple communication mediums including email, SMS/short code, digital applications, push notifications, and emerging customer engagement methods.
• Identify and implement enhancements and new capabilities to meet stakeholders’ business needs within the Salesforce Marketing cloud platform.
• Design and build integrations with SFMC that meet business outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver data mapping documentation to facilitate data conversion and integration.
• Review/approve solutions before they are deployed to Production.
• Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
• Work with a diverse team of system analysts, application developers, project managers, and third-party solution providers/ vendors to implement technology solutions.
Production Support and Operations
• Provide Tier 3 client support to campus SFMC and deliver/assist communication solutions for university’s business stakeholders.
• Provide SFMC platform related error resolution and identify short- and long-term remediation.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of SFMC and keep up to date on new releases and functionality
• Maintain operations documentation and develop operational strategy for SFMC platform and related integrated third-party tools.
• Develop performance analytics and usage audit reports.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and develops Corrective Action (CA) solutions/plans for error, failures, and problems for all business use cases in SFMC environment.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent in education, training and experience is required.
• Certifications for Marketing cloud Admin, Marketing cloud Email specialist and/or Salesforce Admin.
• At least 3 years progressively relevant experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Journey Builder.
• In depth knowledge in Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities and constraints.
• Proven record of problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated skill in writing SQL queries.
• A thorough understanding of integrated CRM environments in large IT organizations and demonstrated knowledge of information architecture principles, best practices, and security concepts to be able to create and maintain articulate, structured technical documentation is required.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment and a commitment to customer service in a diverse population are necessary.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• This individual will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize between focusing on existing versus new applications and between features, architectural improvements, and operational excellence
• A self-starter who insists on creating innovative solutions and has the ability to practically apply best practice web technologies to meet business objectives will succeed in this role.
• Availability after-hours to support staff is required.
• Preferred experience working at or with universities.
• Practical experience with agile project lifecycles and methodologies (e.g., SCRUM), source code management, and code reviews are essential.
Compensation Range: $180k-$210k annual, DOE
